Yet again, however, I am entirely unable to try out research of any kind. I scan a region and all facilities are booked for weeks at a time. I move to a different region, and again the scan shows all facilities booked for weeks before the next vacancy.

I propose that facilities in high-security space (even if we limit to just 1.0 space) are in use by "sponsored" corporations for the betterment of the sovereignty. Which leaves only "table scraps" of facility time available for mere peons like me. So research runs in such stations have an upper limit on the time that can be booked for any run. If 1 day is long enough to try out different kinds of research on any item, then set a 1-day upper limit so that facilities can cycle open at a much faster pace than 45 days (which I've seen at some stations).

As true researchers find needs that exceed 1 day, then they'd be pushed into facilities in lower security sectors in order to meet their demands. But us newbies would get the opportunity to at least TRY OUT the game mechanic, for cryin' out loud.

Iv also noticed the major issue of nearly every station Game Wide that has an R&D Facility being overrun for weeks on end by small groups of people basically using every available slot they can to research their BPO's.

I like the idea that if there are set of slots, say 5 slots per type of R&D in station avilable, that are for the use of anything requiring a day or less. or set 3 to that and 2 that you can only use for up to 6 hours at a time, period. Otherwise, it would be unfair to people like me, who started their character with no idea that R&D on BPO could be worth a fortune if the time is set into it.

Otherwise, we need to add the feature of Players themselves can buy Small time Mods that they can use at a limited capacity in any station. I.e. meaning, you cant build a ship bigger than cruiser with a personal manufacturing plant, or if you are material researching, it will take 30% longer because you are not using the direct sources that come with the standard station R&D. Just a thought for "fixing" the R&D situation as it stands
